Guest laundry card

  • The guest card is free: your washer's own cycle names, cold by default, the never-dry list, the wet-load rule and where the lint screen is. Print it, put it on the wall by the machine, paste the same link in the house manual. The sample is on this page.
  • Plain type, like a safety sign: it reads the same to a guest who has never seen your machine and to the cleaner on turnover day. Big print and a second language are one tap each.
  • More than one place, or a shared laundry room? The $29 a year room licence adds your logo and colours, one link per cabin or unit, English and Spanish on one page, and turnover checks for the cleaner.

DRYER

Five steps, then the never list

  1. Step 1: Clean the lint screen first.Pull it out, wipe it, put it back.
  2. Step 2: Check the NEVER list below.Hang those to dry, or bag them and dry them at home.
  3. Step 3: Load loosely. Half full dries faster.
  4. Step 4: Heat: Low for most things, Medium for towels.Never High for anything with print or stretch. Coin dryer with a timer: Medium, 30 minutes, check, add 10.
  5. Step 5: Take it out while it is still warm. Fold or hang.

NEVER IN THE DRYER

  • Never: Anything whose tag says do not tumble dry, line dry or dry flat
  • Never: Anything still stained (heat sets it)
  • Never: Anything with print or iron-on numbers
  • Never: Wool sweaters
  • Never: Leggings, swimsuits, sports bras
  • Never: Rubber-backed mats and anything plastic-coated
  • Never: Anything that had oil, grease, gas or solvent on it, even after washing (dryer fire)
  • Never: No label? Line dry
Did it work? The lint screen is clean and nothing on the NEVER list is in the drum.
