How it works
The dryer card is free. The house set (washer, dryer, sports bag, fridge chart) is $15 once; nothing monthly unless you ask for the optional plan later. All prices.
Three steps
1. Say which house
Three taps on the home page pick your kind of house (a parent with a small helper, a kid doing it alone, a teen, two homes, a laundromat, and more). That is all. The maker then shows your dryer card at once. Want to change a line, such as the cycle names on your own dial? The questions under the card do that; most people never touch them.
2. Your cards appear
Free: the dryer card, and the laundromat card for a phone. The $15 set adds the washer card, the sports-bag or gear card, the fridge chart (one page of who does what, for the fridge door) and the helper sheet (big-print steps for a sitter or grandparent). Every card: five DO steps first, the NEVER list after, a 'did it work?' check at the bottom. The card further down this page is the real one.
3. Print and stick, or share the link
Plain paper and a magnet, card stock, or the print counter down the road. No printer? Save it as a picture to your phone, or use the free laundromat card, a phone page that needs nothing printed and never asks whose machine it is. The share link holds your answers inside the link itself, so a second home or a helper opens the same cards with no account.
What the scan code on each card does
The kid, the helper or the partner points their phone camera at the code on the card and gets the same rules on the phone, the reason behind each line, and a free timer for the wet load. It records nothing: no account, no photos of children, no report on who did the laundry.
Any washer, any dryer
The cards use the words on your dial, so they work on a 1998 top-loader with the paint worn off, a stacked unit in a cabin, or the newest front-loader. A coin machine with one knob gets a one-knob line. If your dial says something we have never seen, type it in.
Reminders, if you want them
'Remind me in two weeks' in the maker saves a note into your own phone calendar (a small calendar file you download). It is a note to yourself to reprint if a line changed. Nothing is sent by us, nobody is told who skipped what, and there is still no account.
The free dryer card, as real text. Yours will say your own cycle names.
DRYER
Five steps, then the never list
- Step 1: Clean the lint screen first.Pull it out, wipe it, put it back.
- Step 2: Check the NEVER list below.Hang those on the rack instead.
- Step 3: Load loosely. Half full dries faster.
- Step 4: Heat: Low for most things, Medium for towels.Never High for anything with print or stretch. Coin dryer with a timer: Medium, 30 minutes, check, add 10.
- Step 5: Take it out while it is still warm. Fold or hang.
NEVER IN THE DRYER
- Never: Anything whose tag says do not tumble dry, line dry or dry flat
- Never: Anything still stained (heat sets it)
- Never: Anything with print or iron-on numbers
- Never: Wool sweaters
- Never: Leggings, swimsuits, sports bras
- Never: Rubber-backed mats and anything plastic-coated
- Never: Anything that had oil, grease, gas or solvent on it, even after washing (dryer fire)
- Never: No label? Line dry
Why these rules
- Cold for darks and colours: dye runs more in warm water, and cold costs nothing to try first; the card says Warm for towels and sheets, and your house can change any line. The source is most washer manuals and the American Cleaning Institute, which is the detergent makers' own body, so weigh that one accordingly. Hot and a lot of soap still works; it costs dye and energy.
- Never high heat on prints and stretch: the plastic in iron-on numbers and elastane softens above dryer-medium; that is the cracked jersey, and the print makers' own care labels say low or no heat.
- Stain still there? Do not dry it: dryer heat sets protein and tannin stains; a second cold wash usually lifts them.
- Clean the lint screen every load: every dryer repair tech says it first; the US Fire Administration names a dirty lint screen as the leading cause of dryer fires.
Every card line carries its reason and its source on the scan page. If a rule is really the detergent company talking, we say so.
What we never do
No reports on who did the laundry. No photos of children, ever. No accounts. Nothing stored on a server: the share link carries your answers inside it. No "AI" labels, because a person checks every card line.
