All kinds of house

Someone else runs our laundry, or I want it done for me

Nothing to make, print or laminate: a person fills the cards in from a photo of my dial, and a named person answers when something expensive is stained.

$49 done for you (open) · Ask an expert (not open yet)

Done for you, and ask a laundry expert

  • Done for you, $49 once: you send one photo of the dial on the machine the cards are for (yours, or your service's) and any notes from your nanny or service, by email, to one named person. That person builds the house set and the helper sheet in their language, has the print counter near you print it on card stock (the $49 covers their work and the order; the counter charges you for the paper, usually under $10), and deletes your photo and notes once the set is sent. If their language is not one of ours, a named translator checks the sheet first. Nothing else on this site stores anything.
  • Ask a laundry expert: not open yet, so there is no button for it. When it opens: $5 by text, after you send a photo of the care label and the fibre content (no label photo, no answer, only a pointer to a cleaner); $25 for a written verdict on an expensive garment. The expert's name, shop, years in the trade and photo go on this page first.
  • A written verdict always starts with the care label and the fibre content of the garment, says what can be done at home and what cannot, and names a cleaner to send it to when that is the honest answer.
  • Nothing to set up, nothing to print, nothing to laminate.

DRYER

Five steps, then the never list

  1. Step 1: Clean the lint screen first.Pull it out, wipe it, put it back.
  2. Step 2: Check the NEVER list below.Hang those on the rack instead.
  3. Step 3: Load loosely. Half full dries faster.
  4. Step 4: Heat: Low for most things, Medium for towels.Never High for anything with print or stretch. Coin dryer with a timer: Medium, 30 minutes, check, add 10.
  5. Step 5: Take it out while it is still warm. Fold or hang.

NEVER IN THE DRYER

  • Never: Anything whose tag says do not tumble dry, line dry or dry flat
  • Never: Anything still stained (heat sets it)
  • Never: Anything with print or iron-on numbers
  • Never: Wool sweaters
  • Never: Leggings, swimsuits, sports bras
  • Never: Rubber-backed mats and anything plastic-coated
  • Never: Anything that had oil, grease, gas or solvent on it, even after washing (dryer fire)
  • Never: No label? Line dry
Did it work? The lint screen is clean and nothing on the NEVER list is in the drum.
