FOR THE ADULT DOING THE LAUNDRY

Mud on clothes.
Let it dry first.

A four-step picture plan for a light mud mark on washable clothing.

Before starting: read the full plan, the care and product limits below, and your actual item and product labels.

Pictures help you follow the order. They do not identify the fabric or give permission to use a product.

READ BEFORE ACTION

Does this plan fit your item?

For light mud on washable clothing, using liquid laundry detergent as its label directs. No solvent or heavy-stain treatment.

1 · Check the clothing & product

  • Washable clothing only.
  • Check the care tag and product label and test a hidden spot first.
  • Do not use on wool, silk, leather or dry-clean-only items unless the exact product and care labels explicitly allow it.

2 · Keep products separate

  • This selected route does not add bleach.
  • Do not combine cleaning products unless their labels say to use them together.
  • Never mix bleach with ammonia or vinegar.

3 · Keep these safety limits

  • Read the item’s care instructions before treating the stain.
  • Before applying a cleaner directly, test a hidden spot as its label directs.
  • Do not use dryer heat on a remaining fabric mark.
  • Child helpers ask a grown-up before products or machines. Household permission never overrides an adult-only restriction.
  • A photo cannot reliably identify a fabric, a stain, or a safe treatment.

4 · Have ready

laundry detergent

Match the detergent TYPE in the steps. If a brand and form are named, use those; follow the current label and clothing care tag.

Brush

Only for the brushing named in the selected steps.

Your washer manual and labels supply the settings, loading and product directions.

A CHILD HELPING AN ADULT

Three helper moves.

Child helpers do not handle products or machines from this pictured plan. Child helpers ask a grown-up before products or machines. Household permission never overrides an adult-only restriction.

  1. Check the care tag with an adult before you start.
  2. Let the mud dry before you brush it.
  3. Ask your adult to choose the cleaner and finish cleaning.

The adult follows the care and product limits and the full four-step sequence above.
